Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Small Senegalese Twist (Midback).

Installation time varies by hair thickness and twist size, usually four to seven hours. Small midback twists are detailed and take longer; plan a salon appointment day and bring snacks and charging options for comfort during the session.

Wash, deep-condition, and thoroughly detangle your hair one to two days before your appointment. Avoid heavy oils or residue; have hair completely dry. Bring reference photos and preferred extension hair. Clean, prepped hair ensures smoother installation and longer-lasting results.

Sleep with a silk or satin scarf or bonnet and use a silk pillowcase. Moisturize scalp and twists lightly with leave-in or oil every few days. Avoid heavy pulling; refresh edges and touch up loose twists to extend wear up to eight weeks.

When installed by a skilled stylist with proper tension, these twists are protective and minimize breakage. Excessive tightness, prolonged wear without care, or improper removal can cause damage. Always consult your stylist about tension, take breaks between installs, and follow aftercare to protect hair.

You can exercise and swim, but protect twists. Wear a swim cap for chlorinated water and rinse and condition immediately after swimming. Tie hair up during workouts, cleanse scalp regularly, and dry thoroughly to prevent odor, mildew, or premature frizz of the twists.

Upgrades: waist-length is an additional $50, butt-length is an additional $100. Prices cover the extra extension hair and time required. Upgrades are non-refundable once installed; discuss options and confirm length choice before service to avoid unexpected fees or changes.
